One series I was really sad to see end.

Tomo gets the final cover, reverse artwork and booklet, one of the better-presented releases; I do like the one girl per volume and the episode/disc format following the school year plan. Kudos, for a well presented whole.

Believe it or not it’s time to wrap things up, and it’s rather sad, in many ways depending on the frame of mind you’re in while watching, it’s like looking back at your own school life through rose tinted glasses, with a sadness, a strange hint of melancholy comes with this volume, maybe it’s the way the show ends with graduation and looking to the future, it must sound rather odd for what is really one of, if not THE most hilarious comedy I’ve watched, ever, let alone anime.
So what does this volume have to deal with, Yamamaya is back – Sakaki’s wildcat kindred spirit has tracked her down, in a, dare I say dramatic scene Sakaki has one final confrontation with Kamineko who’s got all the other street cats together to gang up on the poor girl.
Bringing closure to a lot of the stories despite the skit nature of the show there are things that need wrapping up and these episodes play out more as full-length episodes. The first one dealing mainly with Sakaki; her wanting for a cat and her friendship with Chiyo-Chan,
Then it’s with college entrance exams and the final days at school taking the lions’ share of the final two episodes. Kagura again shows a sensitive side and typifies that longing of wanting to take something with you when leaving for the last time. Chiyo-Chan reduced to tears during the graduation ceremony which can have a knock on effect for those viewing; it can be that moving. And Ms Yukari taking that final good bye as easy going as ever. That’s not to say it isn’t still incredibly funny, there’s still plenty of gags, they discover Osaka-San has a hidden talent for puns and double meanings, but it’s Yomi this time on the receiving end of many gag, usually from Tomo as each one of them gets their exam results back Yomi has the hardest time of it, even Osaka-San passes.
Final volume, final review’ paragraph … what to say… Use your imagination [Insert as many complementary words as you can] it still wont be enough. As one of my favourite anime series of all time comes to an end.
