Ah my goddess for many fans would have been their first exposure to something other than the violent tentacle-fests available from Manga Ent at the time. The story centres around college student Keiichi, who one night after being left in the dorm on his own dials a round number and gets through to the Goddess help line, visited by the heavenly (literally) Goddess Belldandy who offers him one wish. Keiichi thinks it’s a joke and his wish is for a girl like Belldandy to stay with him forever – and it’s granted. And so Keiichi and Belldandy are set on the rocky romantic road that paves many an anime.
Chris Says
"Can only comment on the episodes on the first disc, but so far it's been severely sentimental and slushy, even for a romance series. I can't say I like it and it gets on my nerves to be honest. The commentary track is quite fun though and I've had that on more often than the show itself."
Ian Says
"Only seen the first volume so far but I can confidently say it’s a great take on the romance genre that leaves you with a silly smile on your face."
Kevin Says
"These I have seen and enjoyed despite the romantic wetness of it the comedy is good, not as good as the manga though."
Rob Says
"One of the first anime’s that I collected on video and then on DVD I have wondered if this anime should have a place in every anime fans heart. It’s that good in my mind."
Damian Says
"There have been countless anime that put a luckless male lead with an out-of-this-world girlfriend and I find most of them insufferable. Ah My Goddess is the exception to this, holding place in my heart, Belldandy is one of my all time favourite anime characters. Ah My Goddess without a doubt for me proves that in this tired genre one of the originals is one of the best."

"
Well loved by almost all who seen it, though there are some who find the sugary sweetness too much too bear but those that do I believe find this to be one of the best romantic animes out there. "
