Episode Contents (This part may contain Spoliers)
I said in the fifth review that that DVD had some sort of ending but thinking about it after watching the sixth DVD it’s more like a switch or a change in chapter from that volume to this. We have spent most of the first five DVDs getting to see the characters doing what students and phantom thieves do; their everyday lives and the messes that they get themselves into from both having an alter ego of a phantom thief in the family and their romantic entanglements.

Volume six is the beginning of the end for D N Angel as the final story arc begins and it looks like we’re in for a bumpy ride. Especially Daisuke as Hiwatari’s stepfather finally takes the gloves off and goes directly after him trapping Daisuke in a peace of art called, “the Second hand of time”. This has the added side affect of leaving Dark in the real world. With Daisuke trapped, Dark has very little choice but to find a way to rescue Daisuke that leads to a whole load of trouble for both Dark and the rest of the Niwa family. Even Hiwatari gets in on the act to save Daisuke, and in doing so reveals his family’s background as the creators of the artwork that Dark and the Niwa family have been stealing and sealing away over the years.

To be honest this sixth volume of D N Angel’s content is just right, with only 6 episodes left if this DVD had kept going along the same lines as that of the previous five DVDs I would be really struggling to continue with this anime which would have essentially not amounted to much.

Signed
Robert

Ai Says
" This volume has no stand-alone episodes in it and I think that helps as D N Angel’s volume six has finally raised the bar and given me something to sink my teeth into, pity it’s so near the end. "
